Madison College's student newspaper, The Clarion, is produced twice monthly during the academic year and available online. The Clarion is the student voice of Madison Area Technical College. We believe in the inherent First Amendment right of freedom of expression and in the benefits of dialogue and debate within the college. We believe in the rights of the students to directly participate in college governance. The Clarion will teach students, inform the college community and advocate for students rights. Published every-other Wednesday throughout the school year, The Clarion is distributed on newspaper racks at every campus and online at http://www.theonlineclarion.com. We provide opportunities for students to develop their skills in reporting, editing, photography, graphic design, marketing, video production, and advertising sales. If you enjoy topics on wellness and self-care and you are eager to help others learn the keys to better health, Student Health is the right place to be! Most programming is completed in the Student Wellness Center room 101 in the Health Education Building. Some events, such as blood drives or flu clinics may occur in other locations on our campuses. PHEs may also work in the Cupboard Student Food Pantries at Truax and Goodman South Campuses.

Mission
Madison College Performing Arts program offers performance and production opportunities in theater, arts outreach and music. Theater opportunities include 2 - 3 full scale productions, workshops and field trips to regional professional companies. Students involved in the productions are also eligible to participate in the American College Theater Festival, a program of the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Music ensembles include jazz, orchestra, show choir, world drumming ensemble and big band. During the summer of 2017, the music program has been invited to play at the Freiburger Partnerstadtmesse (Feiburg Partner Cities Fair). They perform on campus and plan to perform locally during the 16 - 17 school year. New comers are always welcome! Arts outreach includes Fusion Science Theater as well as developing programming using spoken word, music, dance/movement and story to reflect the experiences of Madison College students.

We want to help create a fun and unforgettable college experience. We party with a purpose! Our Pledge to You We, the student senators of Madison College, have pledged to represent the interests of all students, to promote student/faculty understanding, to participate in community affairs that concern, involve or affect our students, and, above all, to encourage students to become involved in the educational and social activities of Madison College. Our purpose as your Madison College Student Senate is to: Represent the voice of students at all Madison Area Technical College campuses. Act as a liaison between the administration and the student body. Encourage improvement of the college and its surroundings. Communicate accurate information to the student body concerning the promotion of vocational and adult education within the community. The Student Senate at Madison Area Technical College was established in 1961. Wisconsin State Statute 38.145 provides legal basis for the role of student government in matters of the college.

United Common Ground (UCG) is a student-led organization that empowers students by demonstrating tolerance, building unity and promoting diversity and inclusion. We do this by bringing programming and events to campus, surrounding contemporary social issues, which help students formulate a global perspective. Events include, but are not limited to: Films, Guest Speakers, Interactive Inclusive Workshops and the Global Showcase. The Yahara Journal will support learning and creativity at Madison College through the publication of a print journal and the sponsorship of events and activities that facilitate growth in writing and visual arts. To help us achieve this mission, we host a variety of events and activities throughout the school year, including: -Banned Book Week Activities -Poetry Readings -Open Mics -Art Show -Writing Contests -National Novel Writing Month Activities -Annual publication of a journal of student work We meet weekly throughout the school year. All members of the Yahara Journal are involved in the editing and selection of items for publication in the journal.
