Madison College PTK Team Wins Regional Awards

At the spring 2026 Wisconsin Regional Conference at Northcentral Technical College in Wausau, our Madison College chapter earned several awards for the work of our students last year.

PTK headquarters runs on a calendar year basis and we are now earning rewards for the work of the chapter team over the 2025 calendar year. The team submits their project write-ups and nominations each December. These awards were recognized out of the 21 other PTK chapters in our Wisconsin Region.

PTK Regional Awards

5-Star Chapter for the 15th consecutive year! Our Madison College chapter has again received the highest rating by PTK headquarters for programming and engagement. Chapter student officers annually set the goal and monitor progress to this achievement.

Chapter Project Awards: Each year, PTK challenges chapters to engage in two projects. Award entries are scored by PTK HQ and top scores in Wisconsin are awarded at the regional conference.

Our College Project 2025 was “Rent Right Revisited” were we cooperated with Student Life to bring a new vendor to our curated housing listings, partnered with UW-Extension to promote renter education, advocated to senior college leadership for more strategic student housing options, and connected to the Tenant Resource Center for a cooperative partnership for tenant services and programming. Madison College received second place.

Our Honors in Action 2025 project was based on the PTK Honor’s Program theme of “The Power of Stories.” Our team researched the ways music can uplift the stories of those who are voiceless and challenge the status quo (the single story) and be a tool activism. In October, the team hosted Forward! Marching Band and the Raging Grannies for a performance of engaging songs of activism. Madison College earned fourth place overall among Wisconsin chapters.

Combining these scores, Madison College was recognized as third place Distinguished Chapter among all Wisconsin chapters.

Finally, Scarlet Martino was awarded as a Paragon Advisor, a recognition awarded to outstanding chapter advisors serving less than 3 years as chapter advisor.
Congratulations ðŸŽ‰ to our outstanding PTK members, chapter leaders, and advisors. A team will travel to Baltimore for the PTK Catalyst international annual convention in April where they are eligible to be honored for their annual work amongst all PTK chapters world-wide.
