Ever thought about studying in another country, sipping coffee in Costa Rica, going on a safari in Kenya, listening to live music in Ireland - but had no idea where to start? Good news: you don’t have to figure it out on your own! Stop by the Study Abroad Fair at Madison College on Wednesday, September 23 from 11am-1:30pm in the Truax Atrium.

Madison College offers a surprisingly wide range of study abroad options. You can choose from faculty-led trips of 9-14 days, summer programs of 2-6 weeks, and semester-long programs. A few of the options include learning about business practices in Northern Ireland, studying wellness in Costa Rica, experiencing life in Kenya, living with a host family in Spain, learning about history in England, and enjoying French cuisine in France. You can see the full list of programs online which includes information about how much each location costs.

Studying abroad is more than just taking classes somewhere new. It’s a chance to earn academic credit, experience a different culture, meet people from all over the world, try new foods, and explore places you may have never imagined visiting. It can be a great way to step outside your comfort zone and become more independent. It can also advance your career. Studying in another country helps you build skills like communication, problem-solving, flexibility, and confidence. Those are skills that employers value.

If cost, time or the application process has kept you from considering study abroad, the fair is a good place to get information about scholarships, ask questions and learn about your options.

Your next adventure could be closer than you think. Come check it out!
