Black Ash Basket Weaving with Kimberly Crowley [Catching Culture with The IE] - Native American Heritage Month

Join Ho-Chunk artist Kimberly Crowley for a hands-on exploration of traditional black ash basket weaving, one of the Ho-Chunk Nation’s longest-practiced artistic traditions.

In this workshop, Kimberly will guide participants through the process of preparing black ash and creating their own Ho-Chunk-inspired basket while sharing the history, skill, and cultural significance woven into this traditional art form.

All Madison College students are invited to RSVP. Some workshops have limited capacity to create a more intimate learning environment, allowing artists to provide hands-on, one-on-one guidance and meaningful cultural engagement.
