Theme Days, November Events, and Surveys; GSA in November

Logan Mortimer - Thursday, October 29
 Events
[FIRST_NAME],

So, I may have stated in the last email that it would be the last until more info was coming, and that was true. We actually have a few somethings now:

- Green Club would like to cohost an event with GSA, a clothing swap meant for but not exclusive to trans students to freshen up and renew their closets with something more in line with their genders while also providing other students with their own clothes that don't fit their own needs (spark joy, as Marie Kondo would say). We don't yet have solid details, still working out the interest for the event, so please fill out the survey if you are or not interested -> Survey here.
- Wanna do theme days for our meetings? Lily, our social media manager, is floating the idea, with examples such as favorite sports team day, blue clothes day, and more. We're also looking for feedback on it before going ahead with the idea, including additional theme ideas. We have another survey to check interest and a form to submit additional ideas -> Survey here, Form here.
- The Intercultural Exchange (IE), room C1430 at Truax, hosts markets in the Fall and Spring semesters, and the Winter (Fall) Market is coming up on November 24th, 2026, from 11AM to 1PM. Last I checked, there are limited spots still open to apply to be a vendor, but even if you don't apply it's still a nice opportunity to support fellow students, connect, and explore. I had a table last year myself, and it was a nice experience. Deadline to apply is November 13th, link to apply is in the description of the event -> [RSVP:381818]
- United Common Ground (UCG) is also hosting Turkey Bingo in the IE that same day, as far as I am aware. The event is not yet posted on Wolfpack but it is another great opportunity to connect with fellow students. Turkey Bingo is a form of bingo with prizes.
- UCG also invites all who would like to to participate in their meetings. UCG focuses on helping and connecting with identity-based clubs, such as our GSA, but also clubs like the Asian American Student Association (AASA), Native American Student Association (NASA), Muslim Student Association (MSA), and more. I like to attend the UCG meetings both for learning for myself and for bettering my own skills as an officer of GSA. UCG meetings are 2:30PM to 4PM on Thursdays in the IE. Today's UCG meeting/event is about voting, specifically what's on the ballot, and I hear there may even be mango lassi -> [RSVP:382265]
- Speaking of voting, I do also recommend you go out to vote. Early voting is still open, and the day of voting is this upcoming Tuesday, November 2nd. I recommend using My Vote Wisconsin to check your polling place and voter registration if you are of voting age and don't already know of them, it is an official website of Wisconsin and only asks for as much information as is needed. My Vote Wisconsin also contains information in the event that you are not yet registered to vote, so you know what to bring when voting to get registered. My Vote Wisconsin shows what is on the ballot for both primary and general elections. My Vote Wisconsin also has a guide for voting, If you already have a plan for voting or have already voted, great! You're further ahead than me about it. My Vote Wisconsin -> myvote.wi.gov

Cheers,
Logan Mortimer
