SUBMIT THIS FORM AT LEAST TWO (2) WEEKS BEFORE YOUR GROUP WANTS TO BEGIN SELLING RAFFLE TICKETS.


Important Raffle Ticket Information: The State of Wisconsin requires that all gambling activities, including raffles of any type, be regulated and licensed. The statute regulating raffles allows organizations such as the college the opportunity to purchase one license for use by all formally registered student groups.

Each October, the Student Life Office purchases such a license that allows student clubs to hold raffles. However, the state does limit the number of raffles and total dollar value of prizes awarded. All registered clubs have the opportunity to hold a raffle on campus.

In accordance with our state license, all raffles must be coordinated through Student Life in order to track the number of raffles held, report dollar value of prizes, and to assure that multiple raffles aren't occurring simultaneously.
 

With Regard to Prizes:

  • Liquor and firearms shall not be offered.
  • All prizes must be secured & owned by the group prior to raffle date.
  • Participants shall be advised of all possible prizes.
  • Small coupon tickets cannot be used for raffles.
  • If you are having a raffle with paid tickets, you are required to use tickets that identify the prizes being awarded, the purchaser's name, address, and phone number, and it must clearly state the cost and date of drawing and the college license number.
  • WI state laws indicate that winners need not be present to win. Upon completion of sale, tickets must be accounted for and reconciled against all deposits. No tickets can be given away.
